Craig Whittemore - Father, Grandfather, businessman and outdoorsman

Craig Whittemore was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 22, 1952. Craig had a passion for fishing, his family, and the business that he played a key role in building. He met the love of his life, Rebecca (Becky) Woolley, in high school and they married in 1972. A devoted father of three, including TRCF Co-Founder Doug Whittemore, Craig believed in being a model of a conscientious and strong work ethic for his family. Building his business for 45 years, Craig lived by the standard of “the first one in, the last one out”. Craig worked his way from a shipping clerk to an owner of Johnstone Supply, growing it from one small store to four large and very successful stores. Craig was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in November 2018 and succumbed to this horrible disease on May 29, 2019. Craig and Becky have been supporters of TRCF from the very beginning. It's only fitting that with TRCF’s expansion plans, Utah be the first out-of-state scholarship in honor of Craig Whittemore.

Craig was given the news of the Craig Whittemore Honorary Scholarship program on May 21st, just one week prior to his passing. “Words can’t express how honored I am to be associated with someone as special as Ruth. I have witnessed firsthand what her influence has created through her family members.” said Craig Whittemore. “To be told that through the TRCF platform we will be able to support teens battling cancer, here in Utah; I am humbled to think of how many young adults this can help. Education is the key to opening doors to your future”.
