Our Mission

Teens cancer survivors face financial hardships that limit their options for higher education, on top of all the normal struggles of being a teenager.

These young people have some of the most complex treatment needs, yet they receive the least amount of support.

Education is key to long-term success, yet out of reach for many financially devastated young cancer patients. TRCF supports survivors to ensure access to higher education and completion of a degree. TRCF bridges the educational opportunity gap and provides the gateway to economic opportunity and a higher quality of life for young cancer survivors.

Advocacy - Education - Financial Aid

The Ruth Cheatham Foundation champions adolescents in their fight against cancer, while inspiring hope and providing resources for survivors to excel throughout their lifetime.

Inspired by Ruth

Our namesake, Ruth Cheatham, was a brilliant and beloved English teacher who made an impact on everyone who knew her. She was a remarkable woman who fearlessly fought cancer for over ten years. Ruth was an inspiration and mentor to many youth in North Texas.

In keeping with her fire and spirit, The Ruth Cheatham Foundation was established in 2016 to give support and a voice to teens with cancer.

Our Mission is simple Advocacy, Education and Financial Aid for young adults in all stages of the cancer battle.

The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it.
